Mary Cronin– President and CEO
Mary Cronin is a driven government relations, public affairs and public policy executive. Currently, Mary is an Executive and SVP of Government Affairs at 6K Inc., a critical materials manufacturer and recycler, which benefited from Mary's leadership in applying to and receiving over $130 Million in non-dilutive government funding. For the decade prior to joining 6K, she was the Managing Director at Smith Dawson & Andrews (SDA), a full service government relations and public affairs firm in Washington, D.C. Her career spans federal, state and county government. Mary brings several years of experience in assisting clients throughout the United States with their policy and funding needs. She also works with non-profits, who wish to elevate their profile among foundations, and private sector companies seeking government grants and procurement opportunities and federal business development program certifications.
Previously, Mary served as the Executive and Legislative Director of the bipartisan Northeast-Midwest Congressional Coalition (NEMW) in the U.S. House of Representatives, where she managed a number of Congressional task forces, coordinating common policy interests among more than 70 Members of Congress representing 18 Northeast and Midwestern states. Prior to her service on Capitol Hill, Mary was Deputy Director of Government Relations for the Fairfax County (Virginia) Public Schools, the nation’s 10th-largest school system, and Legislative Director to the Assistant Majority Whip in the Massachusetts House of Representatives.
Mary received a Master of Global Business Administration from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. She has a bachelors from Saint Michael’s College, a Master of Science in Public Affairs from the University of Massachusetts, McCormack Graduate School of Policy Studies, and a Master of Arts in Strategic Security Studies from the College of International Security Affairs at the National Defense University. She is a member of the Leadership Council of the National Small Business Association, has served as the elected Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors for the Northeast Midwest Institute since 2014 and she is the Executive Director of the Wishing Chair Foundation, a private foundation offering scholarships for underrepresented students to study abroad in Ireland.
